Acrylic sheet process performance

- May 20, 2020-

Acrylic board has crystal-like transparency, with a light transmittance of more than 92%. Acrylic board colored with dye has a good color development effect. In addition, acrylic board: has excellent weather resistance, high surface hardness and surface Gloss and good high temperature resistance. Acrylic sheet has good processing performance, and can be divided into two types of casting type and extrusion type according to the production process. Both thermoforming (including molding, blow molding and vacuum suction molding) can be used, as well as mechanical processing methods such as drilling, turning, washing, cutting, etc.

The mechanical cutting and engraving controlled by microcomputer not only greatly improved the processing accuracy, but also produced more exquisite patterns and shapes than traditional methods. In addition, the acrylic board can be laser cut and laser engraved to produce products with special effects. Hardness is one of the parameters that can best reflect the production process and technology of cast acrylic panels, and is an important part of quality control. The hardness can reflect the purity of the raw material MMA, the weather resistance of the plate and the high temperature resistance.

The hardness directly affects whether the sheet will shrink and bend, and whether the surface will crack or the like during processing. Hardness is one of the indexes to judge the quality of acrylic boards. The cast acrylic sheet has the highest hardness index at present, the average Dallas hardness value is 90 degrees. Acrylic sheet has excellent weather resistance, especially for outdoor use, ranking the top of other plastics, and has good surface hardness and gloss, processing plasticity, can be made into various shapes and products. The variety of plates is rich in color (including translucent color plates). Another feature is that the thick plates can still maintain high transparency.
